OM - Beginning of all good

Long time no see! I started writing my blog around this same time last year and after 3 posts I just wasn't able to write anything more. Reason being a few important keys on my laptop keyboard that just wouldn't work at all. And now from past 5 months (since I got my new VAIO, thanks to U) I've been wanting to write something, but didn't know how, when to begin. But yesterday I got a small reason to start writing again.
As winter passed, I threw some marigold and few more flower seeds
in little patio garden soil. In a few days, the seeds turned into little plants. I cleared the unknown plants, but did keep 1 of them, just out of curiosity.
Last week I saw a little bud on my marigold plant. And yesterday morning while watering my plants, the marigold bud had bloomed. Right next to the flower was something that caught my attention. I turned and sat down on the patio. The leaf of the "unknown" plant had a little design on it. It looked like "Om", the sacred Hindu syllable. I immediately ran inside the house and grabbed my point n shoot and got the following pictures.

Amazing, Incredible" were among the few comments I got on my accounts.
For me, Om means the beginning of all good things. Incidentally its also my son's name!
So to begin all good, as of now, I've decided to write atleast 1 post a month.
Do you think the design resembles the syllable "Om"? Do write back to me :)

Change for good

Its getting so hot these days. the sun is at its scroching best. We are in dire need of some rain here. There down n around Texas people are awaiting Dolly the storm, which has now transformed into a hurricane. People have already started buying stuff they may need in difficult circumstances. Hope all will be fine soon.
This is the good thing about living in an advanced coun
try like USA. Its got the state-of-art weather forecast technology and news and weather channels keep on updating on the weather changes... time to time. But there are some calamities where we can do nothing... like the tornadoes that were quite frequent till last month. I still remember when I and my son were alone at home and there were continuous warnings regarding a raging tornado. We both sat in the bathroom for 30 minutes till the warning faded. Really thankful to the weather channel.
And
the wildfires in California?
But what about the developing nations or less developed countries like Myannmar? Its one of the worst natural disasters in history.
Thousands lost their lives and still thousands are missing. And the earthquake in China... too bad. China is now rebuilding itself, but Myannmar is still in the same state due to lack of proper resources and funding. Its a sad picture there.
This year has had the worst global warming effects ever seen.
Its supposed to be monsoon in India and I hear the rain has forgotten giving a visit there. Mr.Monsoon....there are crops to be grown, rivers are drying ....where art thou?
The whole world climate has changed. Our children will be getting new geography lessons soon. Perhaps its Gods method to show us how we are destroying his most precious gift to us.... Planet Earth.
What if life is found on Mars? Who knows we may living there and start destroying it the same way we have almost destroyed our Earth.
Lets take few steps to stop global warming and also teach our children to save our world. Lets start at home. Simple lessons like less usage of plastic, recycle paper.
Make a difference. Change for good.

My naughty little butterfly

Yes...got time to write....
My son has to see these songs on Youtube... and only 4 songs are to be repeated constantly... its good that he is listening to Indian songs, but only 4 songs to be repeated for 2 hours twice a day. I hide the laptop under the bed, but yesterday he found it and tried to remove it. But couldn't and so he came crying to me pointing towards the bed. I thought...so there you go...good job son...you found it!
I've to now search a new hiding place for the laptop. No, it isn't that I'm a bad mommy. Its just that he's too small to keep looking at the laptop screen for 2 hours continuously. (He still hasn't acquired the art of watching television...like his mom!)
Weekend I did do some shopping on my own after a long time. Felt good. I had a nice swim in the pool too with my son. He enjoys doing the "splish-spash" with his legs. After one round in the water, he has to go out of the pool and run around, banging on the chairs, picking up his shoes (and mine too :) And with the floaties on his arms, he looks like a naughty little butterfly dancing around.
Another nice thing I started doing from the weekend... a hit: I'm trying to practice a small energy saving technique. I don't plug in my laptop to the wall outlet for the whole day. Once the laptop is charged, I just pull off the plug. Saves some energy.
If you got any nice day-to-day tips-n-tricks saving energy and the planet Earth, do post it.

And yes...I ate the flop upma the next day... still waiting for the remedy to convert a flop upma to a better tasting dish.
Do post your comments, this will help me keep writing... Take care :)

Ae Ajnabi

Too boring a name for the first post? I was thinking of a name when Udit Narayan started singing at the back of my mind. I have always loved this song... well sung indeed! How good to be the Ajnabi (stranger). Maybe I'm one... the ones close to me don't know me well and sometimes its me too who just fails to understand myself.

So what will my blog be about? About everything....food, pleasure, travel, movies, hits n misses, wins n losses. I may just hit a chord in your life....you too someday like me may have gone through a similar experience as me. Do share with me.
Lets start with a miss.... I made Upma today. well, I make it very often, but it was just so flop today. I made it in the morning and its still lying in my refrigerator..... Does anyone know what should I do with it? I hate wasting food... so please gimme some idea to transform the flop Upma into an innovative dish.
As like all, its just the beginning.... wish to be a regular... Make me a regular. Write to me, so I feel like writing often . So, keep blogging and don't forget to leave a comment.
truly
